Red Warehouse
In March 2019, CapMan Nordic Real Estate Fund II (“CMNRE II”) acquired a vacant former industrial property (Red Warehouse) in south-west Copenhagen in an off-market transaction from the Carlsberg Foundation. The 6,000 sqm property has a central location in Carlsbergbyen, which is one of the most attractive development areas in Copenhagen. Carlsbergbyen got its name from the Carlsberg brewery which is still headquartered in the area. Historically, the Red Warehouse property was used as a storing facility for grains by Carlsberg.
CMNRE II’s plan is to redevelop Red Warehouse into modern offices while maintaining the old architectural features that link up the building to its rich history. CMNRE II has obtained a building permit for the conversion and structural works have been initiated in accordance with the business plan. While the structural works are ongoing, CMNRE II is looking to secure high quality tenants on a long term basis. Due to the excellent location and uniqueness of the building, the property has already attracted a lot of interest among top tier corporate tenants wanting to relocate to Carlsbergbyen.
