CAPMAN?S 2001 RESULT EUR 21.7 MILLION
CapMan Plc Group?s (CapMan) turnover in 2001 was EUR 13.1 million (EUR 33.4 million in 2000). Profit after financial items was EUR 30.6 million (EUR 24.9 million), which includes capital gain of EUR 18 million from the sale of Sampo plc shares. Profit after taxes and minority interests was EUR 21.7 million (EUR 20.1 million).
Return on equity was 50.1% (93.1%) and equity to assets ratio 97.6% (70.2%). Shareholders? equity per share at the close of the financial year was EUR 0.92 (EUR 0.45).
The Board of Directors proposes to the Annual General Meeting that a dividend of EUR 0.26 per share, which corresponds to 85.2% of the net result, be paid. Total dividends amount to EUR 18.5 million.
CapMan strengthened its position as one of the leading private equity investors in the Nordic countries via acquisitions in Denmark in 2001 and Sweden in February 2002.
In autumn 2001 CapMan began to raise funds for a new Nordic equity fund. At the first closing the fund had EUR 166 million in commitments, and substantial additional commitments are expected.
The funds managed by CapMan made investments totalling EUR 89.4 million (EUR 144 million) during the financial year 2001.
In 2001 the funds managed by CapMan made one financially substantial exit, when Marli Group shares were sold to Swedish Vin & Sprit.

CapMan Plc?s Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 3 April 2002 at 10.00 a.m. in Helsinki at Adams Hall at Erottajankatu 15-17.
