CAPMAN STRENGHTENS ITS ORGANISATION WITH THREE SWEDISH SENIOR ADVISORS

09/10/2002

CapMan, one of the leading private equity players in the Nordic countries, announces that Claes de Neergaard, Björn Norrbom and Semmy Rülf have been invited to join CapMan as Senior Advisors as of September 2002.

The three Senior Advisors will be based at CapMan’s Stockholm office. Norrbom will be part of CapMan’s Nordic ICT/Technology Business Unit and de Neergaard and Rülf part of CapMan’s Nordic Life Science Business Unit. In addition de Neergaard advises CapMan’s Group Development Support Unit, with an emphasis on investor relations and communications. The three bring a wealth of experience in high technology, life science and financial sectors.

Claes de Neergaard has 25 years experience of the financial sector. In the 90’s he has served as Vice President in the Management Committee of the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg and as Executive Director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. De Neergaard is presently a board member in several companies in the financial sector in Sweden and abroad and acts as advisor to clients in the public and private sectors.

“I know the CapMan group and its track record well since several years. When many other players in the private equity industry are now on the defensive CapMan expands forcefully and cleverly to become a leading pan-Nordic investor in mid-sized Buy-outs, ICT/Tech and Life Sciences. I am very happy to advise an organisation that looks like a winner”, says de Neergaard

Björn Norrbom has a long track record in the management and development of IT and telecom companies. He has held several senior management positions at IBM, DEC and Cap Gemini and also headed Telia MegaCom, Telia’s subsidiary handling multinational clients. Most recently, Norrbom has acted as a consultant. Currently he is also a board member of several high-tech and IT companies.
“I consider this new role extremely interesting and challenging. CapMan has a very strong position in the Nordic area. The current environment especially on the technology sector gives CapMan excellent opportunities for attractive investments”, says Norrbom.

Semmy Rülf has a strong competence in the life science and IT sectors and will assist in developing the life science business primarily in South Sweden. Rülf was previously Managing Director of Prostalund AB, one of the pioneers in the Swedish life science sector, and Managing Director in Axis Communications AB. Rülf is a board member in a number of life science companies.

“I am pleased to join a pan-Nordic, dynamic team. I am happy that CapMan has chosen to build a strong Nordic presence in the life science sector and look forward to contributing in this process”, Rülf says.
