Nominations at the CapMan Group
CapMan continues to strengthen all its key partnerships to create a platform for further growth. Mika Matikainen has been nominated Senior Partner at CapMan and Alexander Vlasov, Karl Åberg, and Niklas Östborn Partners.
Mr Mika Matikainen – born 1975, M.Sc.(Econ), M.Soc.Sc – joined CapMan in 2006. He is currently Head of CapMan Real Estate and a member of CapMan Plc’s Management Group. Matikainen played an important role in establishing the CapMan Hotels RE fund and in building CapMan’s hotel portfolio, as well as the investment activities of CapMan’s other real estate funds. He has been involved in CapMan Real Estate fund investments in a total of 47 properties to date. Prior to joining CapMan, Matikainen worked at UBS Investment Bank in London.
Mr Alexander Vlasov – born 1973, M.Sc.(Econ.), M.Sc.(Eng.), CFA – joined CapMan as part of the Norum acquisition in 2008 and is based at CapMan’s Moscow office. Vlasov has been involved in a number of investments made by the CapMan Russia fund, including those in Virial and Russian Baltic Pork Invest. Before joining Norum, Vlasov worked for Ernst & Young in Norway.
Mr Karl Åberg – born 1979, M.Sc.(Econ) – joined CapMan as Investment Director of the CapMan Public Market fund in 2009, and is based at CapMan’s Stockholm office. Åberg has been involved in a number of investments, including those in Intrum Justitia, ÅF, and Proffice. He has previously worked at Handelsbanken Corporate Finance in Stockholm.
Mr Niklas Östborn – born 1976, M.Sc.(Econ) – re-joined CapMan in 2009, having previously been with the company from 2004 to 2006, and is responsible for the CapMan Mezzanine V fund. Östborn was a key contributor to the establishment of the CapMan Mezzanine V fund and led the mezzanine investments in Vanna Group and Design-Talo. Prior to re-joining the company, he was responsible for CapitalSource’s European mezzanine business and has also worked in the European Mezzanine team at Lehman Brothers in London.
