CapMan and PwC raised 100,000 euros for the benefit of children and youth

CapMan and PwC joined forces for the #Steps4Tukikummit campaign and raised altogether 100,000 euros for the benefit of the Tukikummit foundation in support of children and youth. In the campaign euros were collected by walking and running together with colleagues and clients. The idea is to grow the campaign launched this spring into a longstanding collaboration and in the future challenge also other companies to join. In the long-term CapMan’s goal is to grow Tukikummit into the largest foundation funding hobby opportunities for children and youth in Finland.

In the #Steps4Tukikummit campaign launched by CapMan and PwC this March the companies’ employees were challenged to walk and run together and with their clients, collecting kilometres based on which the grand total to be donated and given for the benefit of the charity organisation was grown. Behind the campaign was the desire to do good while supporting the wellbeing and sense of community of the personnel. The campaign lasted from the beginning of March until May 11th.

The campaign reached its culmination last Saturday at the Helsinki City Running Day event where the last kilometres for the benefit of the Tukikummit foundation were collected. Tukikummit was also strongly present at the event through their own event venue where runners could enjoy refreshments, music and learn about the foundation’s operations. Children had the opportunity to spin the wheel of fortune.

The 2024 #Steps4Tukikummit campaign kicked off CapMan’s and PwC’s common fundraising for the benefit of the Tukikummit foundation. In the future, the idea is to challenge also other companies to join.

“I am very grateful that so many people from both CapMan and PwC took part in this campaign. In the long run we want to multiply the annual amount raised for the benefit of children and youth and grow Tukikummit into the largest foundation funding hobby activities for children and youth in Finland,” says Joakim Frimodig, Chair of the Board of CapMan and the Tukikummit foundation.

“The #Steps4Tukikummit initiative has been a refreshing and motivating campaign for this spring. Hundreds of people participated from PwC. I am proud of how active our employees have been and the desire they have shown to do good while moving and networking together with each other and our clients,” shares Kauko Storbacka, CEO of PwC Finland.

“It has been inspiring and heartwarming to follow how actively both CapMan’s and PwC’s employees have participated in this campaign. Every kilometre walked and through that every euro collected towards the Tukikummit foundation is meaningful. Together we can make sure that all children and youth have the opportunity to take part in hobbies and that no-one is left alone”, says Emilia Åberg from the Tukikummit foundation.

CapMan has been involved in fundraising for the Tukikummit foundation since 2014. In 2023, CapMan took an even more active role in the foundation’s operations by providing Tukikummit with resources and expertise and covering its operating expenses, with the goal of revitalising the foundation’s activities and continuing its work for good by significantly growing its brand awareness and fundraising.

The Tukikummit foundation was established in 2007 from the common concern of the former President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö and Finnish business leaders Sari Baldauf, Björn Wahlroos and Hjallis Harkimo for young people at risk of marginalisation. It distributes subsidies for disadvantaged children and youth, especially to cover hobby costs and supporting studies.
