CapMan joined the #Steps4Tukikummit campaign where 33.6 million steps were taken towards a more hopeful future

Over 5,000 employees from CapMan, PwC Finland, Otava Group, Aktia, and SAM Headhunting Finland participated in the spring campaign, which combined the goals of advancing employee well-being and building a more equal society where everyone feels they belong.

Participants collected exercise kilometres that converted into euros for the benefit of the Tukikummit Foundation, and through that to work supporting the hobby opportunities for children and youth. The campaign culminated on Saturday, May 17, at the Helsinki City Running Day event.

“It has been a pleasure to see how strongly the #Steps4Tukikummit campaign has grown. It combines exercise and a sense of community among employees – and at the same time, it brings real support to families who otherwise could not afford hobbies”, says Joakim Frimodig, Chairman of the Board of the Tukikummit Foundation.

“CapMan is a long-term partner of the Tukikummit Foundation and the #Steps4Tukikummit campaign is a meaningful way for our employees to do good together. It has been a joy to witness how the campaign has attracted a growing number of participating companies, and, through that, the foundations increased ability to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people”, says Pia Kåll, CEO at CapMan.

Concrete Help to Prevent Exclusion

The Tukikummit Foundation supports young people who are at risk of being left out of hobby activities due to their family’s financial situation.

“Hobbies should not be a luxury, but every child’s right. They support growth, provide security, and build self-confidence. I am proud that the campaign enables this for more and more people with the support of corporate partners”, says Emilia Åberg, CEO of the Tukikummit Foundation.

In Finland, about one in ten children live in families where income is not enough even for basic needs. At the same time, the prices of hobbies are rising, which excludes a growing number of children from activities – even though hobbies are one of the most effective ways to prevent exclusion.

Hope Lives in Cooperation – and Therefore It Grows

This year, the campaign enables €150,000 in support for children and youth. Our goal is to build a permanent charity model that a growing network of companies can easily and naturally join. When participating with work communities, we also achieve more.

The Tukikummit Foundation is a Finnish charity founded in 2007 that supports the hobby and study opportunities of underprivileged children and youth. By 2024, the foundation has distributed over €7 million in grants.

CapMan has been a long-term partner of Tukikummit since 2014, and over the years, the partnership has evolved from mere financial support to extensive cooperation, offering expertise and resources that help the foundation develop its operations and enhance fundraising.
