Teuvo Salminen, Deputy to the President and CEO of Pöyry PLC, has been invited to join CapMan’s Advisor Network as an Advisor beginning in January 2010.
Teuvo Salminen (born 1954) has been with the Pöyry Group since 1985, serving in a number of positions, including as CFO and a member of the Group’s Executive Committee. He has also been responsible for Pöyry’s Construction and Infrastructure & Environment business groups. Salminen was appointed Deputy to the President and CEO of Pöyry PLC in 1999. Salminen will resign from his present duties as of the beginning of 2010, but he will continue on a part-time basis in Pöyry’s service at least until the end of 2010.
“I am delighted to welcome Teuvo to the CapMan Advisor Network. Active ownership and industrial approach are central principles in CapMan’s investment operations, and our broad-based Advisor Network is a part of this proactive approach. We very much value Teuvo’s industry know-how and the long-term commitment he has made to CapMan’s development by being a member of our Board of Directors and now also an advisor,” says Heikki Westerlund, CEO of CapMan Plc.
“Becoming a CapMan Advisor represents a new and interesting stage in my career. As an advisor, I hope that I will be able to leverage the knowledge and experience I have built up over my 25 years with Pöyry. Over that time, I have been involved in developing Pöyry into an international company active in a number of fields, and I know that CapMan and the companies in its portfolio are faced with similar sets of challenges. It has been a major step for me to make this change, however the fact that I know well CapMan and its key persons facilitated my decision,” says Teuvo Salminen.
Salminen has a M.Sc. (Econ.) from the Helsinki School of Economic and is a certified public accountant. He was a member of the Board of Directors of YIT Corporation between 2001 and 2009, and has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Holiday Club Resorts Oy since 2008. Salminen has been a member of CapMan’s Board of Directors since 2001 and Vice Chairman since 2005.
